- Video Highlight: Scholarship Video Submission Guidelines
- We are excited to announce a new component of our scholarship application process this year! In addition to your written essay, we are inviting you to submit a video that allows us to get to know you better and see your personality shine. This video is a fantastic opportunity for you to showcase your passion, creativity, and unique qualities that may not come through in your written work alone. Here are some guidelines and tips to help you create a compelling scholarship video:
- 1. Content: Your video should be a reflection of who you are and what you're passionate about. You can talk about your personal journey, your academic interests, your extracurricular activities, or any experiences that have shaped you. Feel free to share anecdotes, achievements, and goals that demonstrate your character and determination.
- 2. Length: Keep your video concise and engaging. We recommend a duration of 2 to 3 minutes. Ensure that every moment adds value to your narrative.
- 3. Be Authentic: Be yourself! Authenticity is key. Speak from the heart and let your true personality shine through. We want to get to know the real you.
- 4. Upload: Upload your video to a platform of your choice (YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, etc.) and provide us with the link. Ensure that the video is set to "public" or "unlisted" so our review committee can access it.
- 5. Complement Your Essay: Your video should complement your written essay but not duplicate it. Focus on aspects of your story that are best conveyed through video. -- Remember, this is your chance to stand out and make a lasting impression. We can't wait to see your personality, passions, and potential come to life on screen. Good luck, and we look forward to getting to know you better through your video submission!
- One letter from a community service organization outlining type of volunteer service and time frame of involvement
- One letter of recommendation from a School Counselor, Teacher, Clergy, Employer or another Community leader or Official.
NOTE* Although the Scholarship Recipient is selected in November, the actual scholarship will be awarded when a “VERIFICATION OF ENROLLMENT” is received directly from the college or university. At that time, the scholarship will be sent directly to the college or university upon enrollment. The payment will be made payable to the institution and the student.
